1. What is your group name and slogan?
The group name will be The Elite Six and the slogan is “We’ve Got The Sixth Sense.”
2. What are the roles of each group member? How will you provide for other roles if they become necessary?
The roles of each group member are as follows: Kaitlyn is the main writer for the group. Eric is one of our researchers for the team and will also be helping with graphics. Dalton will mainly be working on the graphics for the team in terms of constructing visual pieces for the project presentation. Kass is in charge of editing all documents. Macen is also a researcher for the team. Last, Casey will act as the team leader and make sure that all communication remains open. In terms of providing for other roles that may become necessary, the group will discuss the matter in person and see who may be willing to add to their roles while remaining open and flexible to changes.
3. What responsibilities are associated with each of those roles?
The responsibilities associated with each role starts with the research. Our team researchers are required to gather information from credible sources and to research the company given. Although all team members will need to do research on the company selected, these individuals will ultimately have the most insight on them. In terms of graphics, the individual is needed to have familiarity with Photoshop, Powerpoint, Gimp, and other tools for displaying the visuals of the team project. It is essential for the writer to be aware of grammar and punctuation and to be organized in their writing. Additionally, the team editor must also know grammar and correct punctuation as well as pay close attention to detail.
4. When and where will you meet? For how long? What technology will you use to facilitate meetings? Who prepares the agenda? Who has authority to call special meetings? Who is the contact person?
Meeting times for the group will be on Tuesday evening at 6:30 pm in room 130 of the library. The meetings will be approximately two hours unless it is deemed appropriate for them to be longer by the team leader, Casey Yourish. The technology used for meetings will be computers, whether they are owned by individual team members or accessible from the library. All group members have the right to address their concern for a special meeting at any time via the GroupMe app. However, the team leader will have the ultimate authority to approve it first and then contact all group members as to when it will be held. Special meetings will be held in the library, although room selection will vary depending on which are available. The official contact personnel for the group will be Casey Yourish. In the event that she is absent, Kass Mantz will take her place and act as the alternative communicator.
5. What are the consequences for members who do not complete their work? Who decides whether they have completed their work?
Members who do not complete their work will be able to have an open discussion with the rest of the group members stating specifically what task was not done and their reasoning for why it was incomplete. It will also be important for the individual to state whether they believe this will hinder the group’s success and in what way. All group members will be allowed to interpret whether or not another member is doing their fair share of the work. While activity in outside environments may cause some issues, it is ultimately the job of the group as a whole to brainstorm a solution to the problem.
6. What might you have conflicts about? How will you handle conflict?
Conflicts that might arise among group members would pertain to if an individual is following the contract or not. If there is not an equal understanding of what each member is required of them, and an individual lacks in abiding by the terms laid out in the contract it could cause an issue. Other conflicts could arise if there is an insufficient amount of respect among members and the ideas they bring to the table. It should also be noted that miscommunication, or lack of communication, could cause a problem in the professional relationships formed at the beginning of starting the task force. The group will handle the conflict by talking it out with the rest of the group members
7. Who in the group has personal experience that can help? What is the experience?
Those in the group that have personal experience that can help in this project would be Casey. She has been assigned to a task force in another class and has prior knowledge of what is expected for the project. Kass and Casey have taken Public Relations Workshop together, giving them the opportunity to already know each other’s work ethic. All members of the team have been assigned group projects before. There has been an open discussion about how all members have previously been in unpleasant groups before and will work towards not letting that happen.
8. What tasks need to be accomplished in order to complete the project?
The tasks that need to be accomplished in order to complete the project would be to begin researching the company. The team will research the company by utilizing the sources of the company’s website, scholarly articles, their social media pages, and any further information provided from the company with communication through email or by phone. The team will also need to take the research gathered to break down the facts about the company. From there the group will compile a list of interview questions that would be beneficial to any individual considering working for that specific company. There will then be time to find journal articles that will enhance the decision of an individual who may want to work in that environment. These articles will have particular studies or examples that the individual can takeaway. After finishing the research, the team will evaluate each article one by one. The group members will take the reliability and value of each source into consideration when determining overall effectiveness. The next step will be to start creating the digital portfolio for the company. This will consist of all planning documents, the research, and evaluation. The last task the team will accomplish will be to present their completed portfolio to the class.
9. Who will do each of those tasks?
Dalton Lewis will be doing the graphics and help in developing clear and concise information to group members to assist with the presentation. Also, Dalton will help with researching credible sources and anything else that needs to be done. Kaitlyn Donnelly will help analyze the research to gather important facts about the company. She will help create the list of interview questions that individuals could use if they were interested in working for the company. She will additionally do any writing that needs to be done and help the group present the final project. Eric Harms will do the researching for credible sources and assist with the graphics to help out in making the presentation look as professional as possible. He will also help with compiling the information onto the final project. Kass Mantz will be editing all documents for the project. She will additionally step in and help with writing wherever needed. Macen Raupers will research relevant and credible sources and is also responsible for assisting other group members with the development of the project. Casey Yourish will be in charge of seeing that all communication stays clear by asking members to clarify their statements and asking questions to pinpoint their ideas, if needed. She will make sure that the group remains on task with their work, but also that they are forming a professional relationship throughout the project.
